Problem with machine: This description is given when there is a part of the scan that is blurry. There is an increased signal which looks specific for a pattern that shows up when the machine malfunctions and causes the artifact. It should be nothing you have to worry about.

Artifact: Without getting too much into physics, beam-hardening artifact is a type of artifact seen with CT scans. This commonly occurs with brain CTs as x-rays pass through the skull. Your report means that the frontal lobes appear "darker" than normal because of this artifact. It is nothing to be concerned with.
