Scrofula: Scrofula, or TB lymphadenitis, is not contagious. However, anyone with this diagnosis should also have additional medical workup to be sure there is no pulmonary TB (infection in the lungs) which is contagious. TB lymphadenitis is quite treatable, but it is important that tissue from the lymph nodes is sent for culture and susceptibility testing to be sure standard treatment is appropriate.
