A member asked:

Is there an alarm that warns me if i'm slipping into a diabeti coma?

Diabetic coma: Diabetic coma does not occur in people with blood sugar readings less than 500, which is as high as home glucose monitors can measure. One usually is sleepy, has difficulty talking and thinking with blood sugars over 500. I would make sure your glucose is in control. If it is over 500, seek medical attention immediately to prevent ketoacidosis or diabetic coma

Why ask?: Are you diabetic? On insulin? Meds? What exactly do you mean? Coma due to low sugar caused by insulin or med is the usual concern. Symptoms from very high blood glucose are quite different. Consult your DR for detailed instruction.
