A fungus: Ringworm is a terrible name, as it has nothing to do at all with a worm...it is merely a name for a fungal infection of the skin. The same fungus that causes athletes foot or jock itch, can cause the infection you have on your neck. Easy to treat-call you Dr. for a cream.
