Action tremor: Also called action tremor , senile tremor, or familial tremor, this is shaking, usually in the upper extremities associated with activity as opposed to a rest tremor as seen in parkinsons disease. Sometimes it is a central tremor presenting as head bobbing. "essential" means the cause is unknown. There are various medications that can help reduce the tremor.
