See allergist: Most medications used for asthma does not adversely affect the fetus. In fact, when asthma is not under control during pregnancy, you are more likely to have problem with fetal stress and less than optimal outcome. Be sure to consult a doctor, preferably an allergist, to help control your asthma and recommend measures which may reduce the risk of the child developing asthma/allergies.

Management: The goal of your asthma management is control of your symptoms. Inhaled medications such as albuterol and inhaled steroids are generally safe. Avoiding the triggers of your asthma, including smoke, and following your asthma plan as outlined by your physician is part of the management. Shortness of breath may occur as the fetus grows and the diaphragm pushes on the lungs. Check asthma.com.
