A member asked:

Tonsil out, biopsy, abundant actinomyces colonies, still have post drip nasal, can this be caused by actinomyces?what kind of test is there to find out?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It's not: Actinomyces colonies are fairly common in tonsils whether or not they need to come out. Actinomyces is usually harmless but when it gets deep into tissues, it evokes abundant pus. It's not going to cause the edema and mild inflammatory of the upper respiratory tract that produces the drip.
