Communication: Are you feeling your own thyroid gland on either side of your trachea? Have you got an idiopathic goiter that's giving you the tight feeling and cough? Needs to be addressed. I'd urge your physicians, if they're really stumped, to consider an ultrasound and imaging of how things move.

See your physician: Please see your physician or another physician if you have new findings or if your symptoms are not improving. Feel better--I do recommend you stop smoking. Your doctor can give you help in this category, as well.
