It is variable: The size of the stone is very important. The larger it is ,the less likely it will pass. If you have severe pain or especially fever, you need to seek immediate medical attention.

See your doctor.: Kidney stones hurt and you should have pain medication to get you through them. Doctors usually get imaging on the stones to find out their size. If they are more than 7mm they're not likely to pass, less than that they likely do in less than 2-3 days. If they don't there is also medical treatment that ranges from lithotripsy to surgical removal.

No: After endoscopic (surgical) treatment for your kidney stones, the patient is generally discharged home the same day. If there is excessive bleeding, infection, or side effects from the anesthesia, an overnight stay maybe required.

Natural or medical: Small kidney stones can pass spontaneously - thus always drink lots of water. May be helped taking Flomax (tamsulosin) to dilate ureter. Larger stones 6 - 15mm eswl (shockwave lithotripsy). Large & staghorn stones may require percutaneous nephro-lithotripsy. Non-mechanical medical treatments are needed to prevent metabolic kidney stones, such as hydrochlorthiazide for hypercalcuria, alopurinal for uricosuria.

Fluids: The best prevention for kidney stones is increasing your water intake. Fluids or foods that are high in oxalate and excess sodium should also be avoided. Foods to be avoided include coffee, teas, nuts, and sodas as this increase your chances of developing another kidney stone.

None...: There has been no known stone-dissolving agents for calcium-containing stones or even organic stones such as cystine stone, except uric acid stone. So, don't wish and dream for such possibility.
