A member asked:

Which age group are most susceptible to iodine deficiency?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Iodized salt: Hi. Here in the US, almost all of our salt is iodized, so it's virtually impossible to be iodine-deficient at any age. I don't know whether they use iodized salt in the UAE, but located on the coast, and assuming local production of salt, my guess is you're not at risk for iodine deficiency there. I'm doing a lot of guesswork here! Sorry.
