Irritant: Alcohol can cause a variety of stomach issues including gastritis and heartburn/acid reflux. These can feel like heat, particularly if you drink on an empty stomach and to excess. Alcohol is a toxin to the system at any quantity, though when used moderately it's toxic effects are minimal and temporary.
