A member asked:

Can drinking too much milk cause lactose intolerance?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Too much cow milk can cause microscopic gut injury & blood loss leading to anemia. We encourage parents to limit toddlers milk intake to 16-24 oz/day.Lactose intolerance is caused by genetic lack of, or acquired loss(ie chronic diarrhea) of the enzyme lactase from the absorptive surfaces in the gut.
