The surgery: During a hysterectomy , nerve endings and/or blood vessels supplying those nerves may have been necessarily cut in order to perform the surgery. This is a known possible consequence of a hysterectomy. Generally speaking, sensation will return after 2-3 months of healing. By contrast, clitoral sensation is unaffected by this surgery .

Possibly normal: You may have a transient decrease in sensation after surgery that will improve over time. This may be normal but see your gynecologist if your symptoms don`t improve.
