How much.: The recent assays pick up some anti-dna antibodies (double stranded) in many people without any disease. High titer dsdna antibodies are almost always sigificant! if you have them, why was the test ordered. And if truly positive, see a rheumatologist-and bring your labs!

Low % of healthy pop: Antibodies to ds dna are most commonly associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (sle). This finding is highly specific for sle, especially if the results are strongly positive.
