Assume nothing: If you have any concern, you should go to see your md and ask to discuss in detail about your concern. Dont assume anything. Sometimes mammogram shows something and further test is needed-like sonogram etc-like in your case. You should continue to have a serial mammogram and perhaps also to repeat sonogram in the future as needed/recommended to ensure that everything is fine.

Mammo: 10% of the time or so, the screening mammo shows a potential abnormality or questionable finding that needs additional views to evaluate. Most of the time it turns out to be nothing, but sometimes it doesn't. The ultrasound is a complementary test, a negative US does not negate a potentially suspicious mammo finding. So you should go for the extra views.
