Was my health teacher right when he said women can get pregnant any time? i thought it was only in certain times of the menstrual cycle?

You are correct: You are most fertile around the time you ovulate in your cycle, which is always 2 weeks Before your period, or if regular about mid cycle. The Health teacher may have been mis-quoted or needs a refresher course in the human female menstrual cycle.
