I am sorry: I encountered quite a few patients with this similar problem in the hospital many years ago. Wound care nurses, often available by referral via your main doctor, are priceless in their knowledge of different creams and treatments for skin break-down. Please consider asking your main doctor to see one! Best wishes for healing.

Rash: If the rash is under the flap it may be intertroigo. This can be treated with antifungal cream or powder. You should see your doctor for confirmation. Try to keep the area dry and allow air flow if possible to prevent it in the future.
