Premenstrual mastalg: I have found that women in their 40s begin to experience more tenderness in their breasts between ovulation and the period. I don't know your age but would guess that is the case since this is a new and concerning change for you. If it persists past the period see your provider. Do a self breast exam also at the onset of the period.
