A member asked:

When exposed to tb but not infected (negative skin test), should your husband and child be checked also?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Won't hurt, likely -: If you were passively exposed to TB but negative on skin test, it is unlikely that you could pass any TB on to your family. It is a slow growing germ & harder to pass than most. That said, it never hurts to screen populations that may have had an unknown exposure (including your family) the cdc recommendations for screening would stop with you for this case.
