Is there any effective "alternative medicine for coughing for a 2 year old?

"Alternative" means: ...Never proven to work, so in that sense, honey isn't alternative any more because it was shown to work better than any cough medicine.

Honey and lemon juic: Mix 1 oz honey with 1 oz lemon juice and give 1 tsp every 2-3 hrs.It may help. Never studied however.

Buckwheat honey....: ...Has been shown to be quite helpful in controlling cough. Don't use the stuff in the "bear" bottle or just any generic honey; these typically don't help. If you can't find buckwheat honey, which is the best studied, then use raw honey.
