Elastin breakdown: wiight fluctuations, diet, nutition or metabolic issues can cause a breakdown of elastin, causing stria ( stretch marks )

Possibly: Although genetics can play a big role in getting stretch marks, they could reflect a hormone problem. For instance high levels of cortisol, although other signs would be expected. It is worth a visit to an endocrinologist.
