New moles are common: Developing new moles as you age is normal. Moles that have 1) irregular borders, 2) that are growing quickly 3) that have several different colors ought to be looked at. It is best to wear a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30, or wear protective clothing in the sun to help prevent the risk of skin cancer. If you have many unusual appearing moles, it is best to establish care with a dermatologist
