I have a pain in my stomach that feels like intense hunger pain. i have found that it is best relieved by pain pills. what could cause this?

Find cause instead: Lots of causes of "stomach pain", but epigastric burning & pain after meals raises the probability of gastritis & ulcers. Stop any non-prescribed nsaid's or aspirin; cut out tobacco & alcohol; start an otc acid reducer (like Prilosec otc, Prevacid (lansoprazole) 24hr). Seek emergency care if lightheaded, worsening symptoms, vomiting coffee ground material or passing black stool or blood. Pancreatitis possible?
