Ring Around Iris: A 4 year old has a white ring around the iris. This finding is commonly seen in older adults and is a harmless condition called Arcus Senilis. It is caused by cholesterol deposits but not linked to high blood levels. However in children and young adults, a similar appearing ring can be a sign of high blood cholesterol levels. This child should see his Pediatrician soon for correct diagnosis.
