Maybe: If you are nervous and afraid, valium or other sedative may be helpful. I used to give benadryl (diphenhydramine) in my office to help with the anxiety. It is important to hold still during the entire procedure. That is hard even if you aren't anxious. Please make sure to ask your doctor before you take it and if you do, make sure to the tell the MRI staff that you took it.
