Follow Hcg: Your doctor likely suggested that because it is normal for the bHcg in your blood level to double every 48 hours. If it was only checked 24 hours later I'm not sure this would be an accurate picture of whether the pregnancy is viable or not. The presence of a sac on ultrasound is a good sign. Keep following the Hcg levels and be on the lookout for signs of miscarriage (bleeding).
