Running Longer: It's safer, for your joints, and produces less injuries. It is better to walk briskly as it decreases the risks of injuries much higher and allows you to do it throughout your lifetime and not limited to your current age. The truth to your answer is depends on what distance and speed and it's a mathematical formula on 'WORK' for calories burned. But safer keeps you exercising longer.
