Yes: Hi. Yes, poorly controlled diabetes can make you drink more and urinate more. Also, because in poorly controlled diabetes sugar comes out in the urine, you may be more susceptible to urinary tract infections. If your diabetes is well controlled, these aren't issues. Well controlled diabetes has no urinary issues, unless one of your diabetes drugs is in the new SGLT2 inhibitor category.
