It may be too: late to try drinking tea during a panic attack. I would recommend learning relaxation techniques or self hypnosis when you are not having an attack. Practice these techniques a few times every day, drink tea as well to stay calmer. Then if an attack starts use the relaxation technique to calm yourself and stop the anxiety attack.
