A member asked:

Please tell me what polycoria is?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Iris openings: Polycoria is the medical term for multiple openings in an iris. The normal iris has one central opening (the pupil). In trauma and some disease states there can be more than one opening and this sometimes creates visual shadowing and multiple images that can be disturbing. There are surgical techniques which can usually help eliminate these problems.
