Not Many: You should better ask what are the complications of NOT having stents placed (and they range from heart attacks to deaths) There are some complications that may happen in the procedure itself and they are quite rare but include breaking the vessel, tamponade, heart attacks, etc. There are other complications like stent thrombosis (closure) when patients do not take the advised antiplatelet agents.
