Two choices: You really do only have two choices - go or don't go. NO ONE can or should force you to do something you don't want to do. You need to decide if learning to swim is worth the time/work/effort for your situation. If no, then don't go. If yes, knowing to swim can be life saving if you're around water and you should learn basic survival.It's just not going to happen - it takes instruction. You decide
