Is it common for a ct scan to miss pancreas divisum (twice)? my mri enterography found nothing helpful for the symptoms i've been having (gi bleeding), but it did find a divided pancreas...

Doesnt bleed: pancreas divisum is a congenital disorder arising in the developing pancreas where the dorsal and ventral ducts dont fuse by birth. Most patients are totally asymptomatic throughout life but is some cases abdominal pain and pancratitis can appear. Defined by ERCP and may need sphincterotomy. Bleeding intoI tract not seen, May have a separate gI lesion causing bleeding.

CT not the best test: They are poor at visualizing soft tissue. Ask you Dr. for an MRI or even an Ultrasound. GI bleeding means you need a gastroenterologist and perhaps and endocrinologist if you suspect issues with the Pancreas. Best to you !

Ct vs.mri: Cts are done in cuts,and depending on the area,of exam,it is likely to miss certain areas,MRI is very sensitive,,and shows tissues in great details,you also need endoscopic exams.
