Pregnancy Testing: Yes. A test cannot possibly be positive until a new fetus has been conceived (it takes one to five days after sex for conception to occur) and grow big enough to be sharing blood and chemicals with the mother (ten to fourteen days after conception). The first symptom of pregnancy the mother's body feels is likely a missed period. Thus you test the morning after the first day of a missed period.
