Steatorrhea: Steatorrhea refers to fatty stools. They may be greasy or loose and bulky and typically float on the surface of the water in the toilet bowl. They occur related to problems with fat absorption. Liver and/or pancreatic disease may cause steatorrhea since these organs are intimately involved in fat absorption but medications, surgeries or small bowel problems could cause it as well.
