Bad information: We do not like to contradict other physicians here. But, there is absolutely no truth to the information your physician told you. Emptying the prostate can be one of several possible ways to treat prostatitis. Ejaculating on a regular basis also helps prevent prostate cancer.

Correct advice: However, you do not need to avoid sex. Sex usually does not aggravate prostatitis although some man experience pain during orgasm. Can interfere with enjoyment. This would be the only down side. Am assuming that you do not have an active STD.
