Prostatitis: The prostate volume of 17 ml is completely normal for your age. I'm more than a little curious how you know your prostate volume so precisely? A transrectal ultrasound would be the only means of measuring prostate volume. It is generally inappropriate to do a transrectal ultrasound on someone of your age unless an abscess was suspected.

No: 17 ml is not an enlarged prostate at all. Prostate infections can occur in prostates of all sizes.
