Dont affect pregnanc: Dermoid cyst of the ovary are teratomas containing body tissue such as hair and bone. They are for the most part benign and dont affect pregnancy. If found during pregnancy and under 4 cm. they are left alone. Larger than 6cm. they may be removed by laparoscopy. If the cyst is removed prior to any pregnancy the chances are there will be no effect as long as the ovary is intact.
