Merits an expert: This can occur with aging, in families with a genetic propensity, or due to aluminum in the water supply. Since it is a metabolic disorder, a consultation and exam by an expert (neurologist or cardiovascular MD) can help sort out the pertinent factors. A genetic fix has not yet been determined; however, it is hoped that one or more will be found since one of the risks is of a hemorrhagic stroke.
