Pontine glioma: This region is subject to a lot of artifact from the bony skull base on CT. Also, the lack of IV contrast significantly limits the sensitivity of CT to visualize tumors, especially small tumors. I can't say without looking at the images whether the pontine glioma was visible, but, particularly if it is small, it would not surprise me if it was very difficult, or even impossible, to see.
