OTC creams: If this is an inflammatory lesion or lesion related to an irritant then use of topical steroid ointments/creams should cause resolution. If this lesion persists or doesn't improve after a few days of treatment then you should consider having the lesion biopsied for a definitive diagnosis.

Avoid cortisones: Unless confined to low potency and short duration, steroids are risky on the face (perioral dermatitis). A dermatologist will help you. Meanwhile you can try a speck of vaseline or Aquaphor rubbed in twice a day.
