Different spaces: Epidural Space is just outside of where the nerves, spinal cord and spinal fluid are located. So getting an epidural injection is placing the needle in this area and injecting medicine there. A spinal is going into the area where the subarachnoid space is and injecting the medicine into the spinal fluid.
