Being diagnosed with: Down Syndrome at age 40 is very unusual. Did the doctor say you have Mosaic Down Syndrome (MDS)? MDS means some cells in your body have the normal number of chromosomes & some have Trisomy 21. Seek referral to a geneticist. Folks with MDS tend to have higher IQ's than those with DS, but they can have the same developmental & medical problems found in DS. Your doctor can check you for these.
