A member asked:

Could you tell me if gram nagetive bacilli even exist?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: E. coli and a great many of the other microbes in your gut are gram-negative bacilli. There may be confusion because a genus of bacteria named "Bacillus" (as in "Bacillus subtilis") are gram-positives.
