Stye: The most common spontaneous pain in your eye lid and your age group is a beginning stye which you can treat with 4-5 applications of heat each day. If there is vision change, pus inside or redness of the eye, see your ophthalmologist.

Evaluation: Most likely, if there was no history of trauma, this is probably an early stye. Try treating it with frequent applications of heated washcloths from the tap, and if it persists or there is some change in the structure of the lid, see your ophthalmologist for a diagnosis and treatment.
