Nodules: Hi. No, not from how you describe it. We fine needle biopsy nodules to see if they're cancer. Diffuse heterogeneity in the gland is often seen in Hashimoto's (which can be diagnosed with thyroid autoantibodies; needle biopsy not indicated. Talk with your doctor. He/she will recommend next step(s). Good luck!
