Colonoscopy: Blood in stool represents bleeding somewhere in the gastrointestinal tract. It needs be investigated by a GI specialist, especially to exclude colon cancer.

Depends: On other symptoms but a GI work up is indicated. This may include a colonoscopy and or upper endoscopy. Discuss with your doctor and get the proper evaluation.
