Let his surgeon know: The back pain and the radiation to the penis could represent irritation to the nerves that lie in the back, This could be from inflammation or fluid collection, either sterile or infected, that is affecting the nerves in the area where the appendix was removed. Let his surgeon know - additional imaging tests may be necessary.
