Will running hot water for the steam help my child's cough?

Steam for cough: Steam often will help loosen a cough and give a child relief. Particularly if the child has a croup-like cough (barking like a seal). Croup causes inflammation in the airways and the moisture in the air from the steam helps relieve the cough.
