Treatment options: A varicocele is a network of enlarged veins in the scrotum. It can be relatively asymptomatic, or it can cause infertility, pain, or testicular shrinkage. A varicocele is usually treated either by surgery or embolization. However, if the varicocele is not causing symptoms, then many would argue that treatment is not necessary.

No-- common finding: Varicoceles are a common, incidental finding either on exam or on Ultrasound. If the varicocele is not very large on U/S, then it's clinically and long-term insignificant. Nothing to do. If it were very, very large and giving active symptoms, then a Urologist would suggest operation to remove/correct. I have not seen this in 10 yrs in practice.
